Something very weird is going on with Facebook for the last couple of days... Most recent page is definitely not showing the most recent posts, and it keeps one of the processor cores at 100%, bringing Firefox down to a crawl, sometimes even not responding at all for a while...

Well, their recent page has been a mess for quite a long time -.-; Some posts are literally disappearing on me. However, it may be Firefox fault this time. If the same thing with CPU happens on other browser, it's definitely FB fault. If not, I'd blame Firefox. I stopped using it completely exactly because of problems similar to what you described that I had with other websites. It was unusable on tumblr for example.

Posts disappearing (or never appearing at all) are another problem, yeah, and one I've complained about repeatedly before, most recently here. Especially likely to happen with pages/people who have made multiple posts, with Facebook just choosing some of them to show you.

Works without freezing in Pale Moon, which I got for trying out after Firefox killed its best add-ons (currently still using Firefox ESR, though), but still rather CPU-heavy. Must be some script they've added, seen this happen on a couple of other sites before as well, although eventually these were fixed.

It is probably a similar thing to what they use on tumblr.

I've been using Chrome myself. At least my computer is more responsive while I'm on tumblr, even though it consumes a lot of RAM. They do have different engines, don't they? I mean Firefox and Chrome. And Pale Moon is Firefox related, right?
