Bristol Stool Scale year_head February 9 2011, 13:35:21 UTC
Readers may like to know that the Bristol Stool Scale is a scoring system devised by a gastro-enterological research unit based in Bristol, UK. It allots a rating from between 1 and 7 according to the consistency of human stool.

Each rating is accompanied by a description, which is too disgusting to be reproduced on a public forum such as this. Suffice to say that 1 is akin to walnuts whilst 7, being at the opposite end of the scale, is more like oxtail soup. The ideal score is 4 or possibly 5.

It has been remarked that the scale brings a whole new meaning to the expression "number 2". Quite so.
