I have felt useless before, but.. not in the way you said it. Maybe I feel more like it's because I never got a use in the first place, since I'm not particularly good at anything like most other people are..

But, at times like those.. I think all we can do is try to still help out other people as much as we can, in any way. In that case that can be your use, right?

Never got a use? That's impossible, something that didn't have a use in the first place wouldn't have been created. Isn't that why parents have children? Babies have no use when they are so little, and the parents can't predict or know what use they will have when they grow up, in that aspect their use is simply to be someone's children.

To exist and never having had a use... That's terrible.

Their use is to be someone's children, huh..? Well, I guess that's right, since I love Mama and Papa a whole lot and wouldn't want to give them up at all. And while I'm not sure if they would have liked a more useful daughter more, I'm sure Mama and Papa love me regardless.

People can't know what kind of daughter or son they will have, humans' aren't made out of a model set, there are a thousand of variables that affect them, not even the education that parents give them can really determine what type of people they will be. But there are ways to try to control all those variables, though they aren't considered ethical or legal in my world at least.

But to begin with, in my world, if a couple doesn't want a child, or aren't convinced with it due its gender or whatever, they can kill it before it's born. Or give it up to adoption, as the less savage options. I don't think it's really possible for parents to like another type of daughter more anyway, a useful daughter or a useless one, both of them are their daughters, aren't they?

Ah, I guess you're right, yes.. I know about all of that. I know I can't really change who I am either, so.. I just try my best, even if I can't do much.

Well, even if you want to change, it's not that easy, right? We can't change the fact we don't have certain natural abilities, we can only hope to change little things about ourselves and see that might help..

Predisposition for an ability doesn't make it natural, neither means the person will excel on it. In fact, in the long run it's those of mediocre skills that end causing a difference and excelling in the human history.

Skills and abilities in humans are meant to be trained and refined, even the most basic one like chewing, if you leave a baby and never teach him to chew he will never be able to eat anything solid.
