Ya know...if I could change my fundamental view of God's law so that it was entirely for my protection, if I could gain the perspective that the things He bars are prohibited because they harm me...maybe I wouldn't have such an aversion to it. And maybe some sins wouldn't hold so strong a grip on me.

And maybe if you recognized Christ's insistence on freedom, none of this would seem so oppressive.

Do this for yourself, and actually do it - reread The End of Religion. There's so much in it that I keep reading time and time again, that are great reminders of His character!
