Chipotle is so last century in my neck of the woods. Now, if you get a Freebirds, that's worth waiting in line for. :)

You have to wonder about our mentality of standing in line to be the first to have things. Things like mobile phones, games consoles, and food - what benefit is there to being first?

I can't see myself waiting - it's just not worth it. It's fast food, for chrissakes!

See, that's exactly how I feel. Movies, tech, food... they will all still be there tomorrow, the day after, a month from now... What privileges do you get from being first?

Honestly, I think waiting in line for some tech crap is just as asinine as waiting in line for a burrito.

I disagree completely about tech. I think the point is different.

Sure, for some, they want to be first. But for myself (and others), they don't want to be left out completely.

The Wii, for example, was in massively short supply all over the world for more than TWO YEARS. I waited in line for a few hours to get a preorder, walked in on launch day, paid for it and left. Very little hassle. Much better than the hoards of people who were swarming Best Buy for months on end, looking for one.

Left out of what exactly?

I don't remember when we got ours but it was probably within a year of it coming out. No preorder, no lines. Walked into Target(?), saw it on a shelf, walked out with it. *shrug*

I'm not saying others didn't have problems getting their hands on one, but what exactly were they so afraid of being "left out" of? I don't want to pay $300 just to look cool for my friends.

No, I didn't fail to mention that part. I took a look at the line and went into the pizzeria next door (you can see the window sill in the second picture). Unlike the people in line, I was too busy, y'know, eating food to be bothered to go over and ask questions.
