I write about every incident of passing too. However, I think that passing is easier than you think it is - you are your own worse critic.
My advice is just act natural (and you know you're a guy inside - just bring him out). Chances of passing are better when you are more confident. And, I would correct people if they use the wrong pronouns/nouns.
