Is me!

So, hello everyone,

Looking at point break to coming home. The 55th has arrived in Kuwait, and we should soon begin the wonderful process of RIPTOA, changing out people and doing the left seat right seat. One of my soldiers has to go home early (His father slipped into a coma from failed liver, they have begun hospice procedures) so I’m getting a first hand view of how much of a gaggle fuck it will be to get out of country.

Some news and plans!

Still trying to get all my stuff put together for my captains packet, looking into the degree completion program. Yet to receive any contact back from anyone, this may have to wait unfortunately until I’m back in the states. 

Shana’s hand is doing much better now! She had a nasty bout of cellulites that was not only anti biotic resistant, but turns out she was allergic to the super antibiotics made for the super bacteria. Bad times. Because of this, she wasn’t able to go to Amsterdam to begin her position there, but DID meet up with a comic book artist and began her apprenticeship! I think things will go really well for her. Had some scares with the medical bills, but that’s been resolved. When she transferred hospitals, the insurance information, for whatever reason, didn’t transfer with her. Now that THAT is squared away, we’ll only end up owing $1,400 instead of $37,500. It’s defiantly a load off our chest.

Still looking to going to Amsterdam for our honeymoon, should be back stateside for Christmas.

Emmies and I are still having a lot of fun with our RP, Daniel and I are greatly enjoying our Civ/DnD based game, and I’m receiving multiple challenges every day for Ghost Recon and Halo 2. Specialist Thomas also has a copy of Star Wars Battle Front 2 for the play station, so it’s awesome to get back into that, shoot down some rebel scum. SO! As you can see, my fun factor is pretty high when not working.

Taking tomorrow off to pack most of my shit and start sending it home. I don’t know what I have to turn into the Army and what I get to keep, so most of the TA-50 will be going to Momcat’s place so that, in the event I DO have to turn it in, it’s just 2 states away. Most of the personal stuff is going to Boston for obvious reasons. Going through Customs for RnR with just 1 little bag was a pain in the ass, I have no intention of bringing anything with me I don’t have to. 1 A bag is my personal max.

I was very sad that my room mate left the other night. 
Gregory Cullins was easily the coolist guy I’ve met here. A Navy O3. His boss is moving to the green zone, so he’s going with him, but keeping his room here as he could be back in 3 to 12 weeks, too long for me to hope to see him again either way. He was really pretty nervous when he was backing his gear that last night, and I couldn’t quite figure why until I asked “Any chance you’ll be going outside the wire?”

Ahh, I remember MY first mission.

So, I gave him a lot of pointers, hooked up his body armor with a wolf hook system for his weapon, gave him hard candy for the good kids and a wrist-rocket for the bastard kids who through stones (Go for the thigh! The shins and feet break are bony and may break or chip, and underfed kids don’t have much to protect their organs, but thigh shots hurt like a mother fucker and make a satisfying THWACK sound!)

Hooked him up with Fight Club the movie, and the first Harry Potter book as he’d seen/read neither. Got up with him his last morning at 04:30 to help him carry his gear and get a good breakfast in him. Heh, like a mom on the first day of school. ^_^

SO!
Wasting a lot of time waiting to go home, then busy for 16 hours straight, then three days of nothing. My last three months in country could probably be done from my home with a VOIP phone, a scanner, and a printer on a decent computer with a SIPR connection. Go figure. Bah, I’ll be home soon enough. Yay friends and family! But above all? YAY KITTENS! It’s crazy how much I miss my wife. Nothing’s the same without her.

Home soon enough. Heh.
Love to everyone!
