Luke, check out the IntellaSys FORTHdrive. I wrote a Mac driver for it (http://tinyco.de). It's a 24-core computer on a thumb stick!

Looks like you had a fun trip.

As for USB? I hope you meant at least Wireless USB. :)

I want to do away with ALL ports including USB and power. Ideally a solar/RF-energy harvesting and software-defined radio machine is what I want.

Texas Instruments have recently released a low-power solar energy harvesting MSP430 wireless development tool that's taken my fancy. No SDR there or up to the processing power of your Gumstix however! Not that the Gumstix would run on a solar panel as small. :)
