Title: The Catalyst- Part 4
Pairing: Sharon Raydor/Will Pope
Rating: T
Summary: The date continues (sounds fascinating, I know).
Words: 438
A/N: This part is a bit shorter than the others. Up until now I've just been writing whatever came into my head without a clue as to where I'm going (shocking isn't it). Well now I have a flag plan.
“Will? Are you okay?” Sharon asked, concerned with Will’s sudden change of mood. She searched out his eyes, and when his locked with hers, he gave her a sympathetic smile.
“Brace yourself,” Will muttered to her just loud enough so their approaching visitor wouldn’t hear.
“Yeah, well next time I’ll be the one to choose the restaurant,” Sharon whispered in return. Despite the scene he knew was coming, Will couldn’t help but perk up at the idea of a next time.
“Well, hello there,” the southern drawl of Brenda Leigh Johnson reached their ears as she reached their table. “What a surprise, bumping into the two of you here.”
“It is truly gasp worthy,” Sharon replied with a sugary sweet smile that would put any candy in Brenda’s drawer to shame.
“So, am I correct in assuming that this isn’t a business dinner?” Brenda looked from Will to Sharon and then back.
“Not that it’s any of your business, but you are correct,” Will answered with a sigh. All he wanted was to see Brenda walk away, without a black eye, and continue his evening with the beautiful woman sitting across from him.
“I wasn’t even aware that you two were an item. How long have I been so oblivious?”
“Oh don’t worry, Chief. You’re detective skills are still in their prime. This is only our first date,” Sharon replied, giving Brenda a take-the-hint-and-go-the-hell-away look. Will saw the look and shifted slightly in his seat.
“Oh! I’m so sorry. How rude of me. Please forgive me for interrupting, I’ll go. I should get back before Fritzy gets back from the little boys’ room anyway,” Brenda said and then grinned at them. “You know, y’all actually make a cute couple. Have a wonderful night.” Brenda turned and walked back to her table. Will and Sharon shared a bewildered look.
“Was she just… nice?” Will asked, sure that he would wake up at any moment. “No, that’s not possible. I must be going crazy.”
“Maybe she’s finally realized I’m not the enemy,” Sharon said with a sideways smile.
“You wanna repeat that?” Will looked at her puzzled. “Am I being Punk’d?
“No... Am I supposed to know what Punk’d is?” Sharon looked at him, a concerned-for-your-mental-health look. Will chuckled and relaxed. He was amazed at how easily he felt at ease around her. Even Brenda Leigh Johnson couldn’t destroy the feeling of home he felt when he looked at Sharon Raydor.

The rest of their time spent at the restaurant went by without the faintest hint of an awkward moment.
That is until they arrived back at Sharon’s house.
