Ah, that's our self-effacing Bill Adama. If Laura's gotta suffer, he'd better suffer just alongside her. Only he knows he won't live up to his own high ideals; he's broken his promises to himself before.

Very nicely observed. This feels so painfully right for Bill, making promises to himself about Laura which he means at the time but which are going to be impossible to keep.

"Six of One" is one of my favorite episodes. That fight between them was so powerful. And when Laura's hair pulls out--heart wrenching. My very first BSG fic was based on this scene.

Strands of hair lay on the table in front of her. Her tears sober you completely. You take her in your arms.
