There was a discussion on obesity in blackfolk. I started looking at ingredients. Why does Wheat Thins need high fructose corn syrup?

hfcs, annoyed, obesity

Food Inc. will be at the Bijou soon. I'll probably go see it but I'm cringing already. Probably will force me to let go of the last bits of junk food I eat. I've dropped pretty much everything with HFCS already, though sometimes I forget to check something and it sneaks in. It's in *everything* these days!

I will for sure have to check it out. It'll either turn me around or make me binge, thinking it's all hopeless when I don't have much money. Or first one then the other. LOL! And HFCS =does= seem to be in just about everything!

There's also another movie called King Corn which talks about that. I think it's because we have a surplus of corn and they are trying to get rid of it.

I'll check that out as well...

Yeah...my boyfriend tries to avoid most products that add sugar to them. I had offered him some Wheat Thins and he declined, saying they were sweetened. "They're WHEAT Thins!" I said. But sure enough, when I looked at the ingredients, high fructose corn syrup. Geez.

practically everything in the regular markets has HFCS. it's so disturbing. i pay a bit extra $$ to shop at Ellwood's, which has made a vow to never have anything with HFCS in its store. one less worry.

Yeah. I may have to do that; switch stores, that is.
