RE: Bears

There have been recent reports of bears in the campus area, possibly a mother and her cub. Bear attacks are rare but it is important to remember not to run if it sees you. Running may prompt the bear to give chase and bears run faster than humans.

There's a story from the Darwin Awards about a woman at Yosemite National Park that covered her son with honey in hopes that bears would lick it off and she would get a good photo. Needless to day, the rangers were less than thrilled to see this happen.

I also left out the best part of the email. The note suggests punching a black bear in the nose if it attacks you.
