Is it just me, or is it annoying to get an email from your ex-landlady that says "I've been super busy, but I'll try to get a check mailed to you today," in response to your email (after she didn't return your calls) asking when you might expect to see your (paltry) deposit check that was promised to be put in the mail the day you moved out, ( Read more... )

At least you're getting your deposit back. Our ex-landlord tried to keep ours and say that we owed him money. We ended up taking him to court and as luck would have it according to Michigan law he had to pay double the amount back to us as a penalty for not returning it to us within 45 days of moving out. I hate landlord assholes.

My mom sent me the link of some new company in Ferndale...she told me to go walk in and see if they needed a receptionist (where she finds these things, I don't know...), but I already have a job. Do you want me to send you the link? Maybe they really do need a receptionist...

PS. When are we going to go to that little mythical coney for breakfast (or whatever)? :)

That is very annoying. My landlady has never done anything as bad as that -- BUT -- she does leave notes about one pair of shoes on the doormat outside of my apt being a "lease violation" for deterring from the attractiveness of the hallway. Meanwhile, my downstairs neighbor's daughter literally smokes crack on the balcony, and I haven't seen squat posted on her door!
