Maybe I can help you with the picture, I am a photographer!
You should use natural light. If you can't, try to reflect the light you have with a white sheet or a polystyrene square (like those you can stuck to the ceiling, Home Depot have those).
Try also to use a natural light bulb (the blue ones)
What kind of camera do you use? Do you have the white balance thing?
I know your yarn are usually very sweet and bright and I can perfectly feel your frustration. I hope my comment helps! If not let me know!

well, these two colorways are pretty subtle, and also pretty complex.
i think it might just be a little too much for the camera to take in?

i always use natural light, but lately there hasn't been a whole lot of that to go around up here! that has been one challenge.
i am not sure that i have the resolution set properly on the camera either. (it's a sony cyber-shot, btw, and it does have a white balance menu.)
