Warren in Inauguration Ceremony broohaha

So, Rick Warren, noted homophobe (oh, and pastor) has been invited to do something religious at the Inauguration Ceremony. Progressives are a little upset.

I've heard a lot of sad aimed at our President-Elect as a result of this. I just want to mention that there are reports that this is a Congressional decision, not a Change.gov decision. As ( Read more... )

So it looks like Warren is BO's pick..

I can't understand why BO would give this man a mouthpiece at inauguration. This doesn't seem to be the right forum for a debate. This is where we should to hear leadership from him.

Perhaps BO can win some people over by sharing this stage who would not even have watched otherwise?
Do we need to get used to him sharing the stage with people who have loathsome beliefs from time to time?
If >50% of the people are biased, do we need to engage more people this way?

I suppose, we'll see.

I hope there is a reason he is speaking rather than his level of bias is acceptable.
I hope we hear something good from BO...
