BRIEF HISTORY

Fye doesn’t remember much of his childhood. This is because he was born long before us. He’s older than you and me and your grandfather together. However, despite that fact, he looks so very young, somewhere around his twenties, so that it’s almost impossible to believe he’s several hundreds of years. He doesn’t seem to age either. Fye comes from Bevelle where he’s lived a larger part of his life, but before that, no one but him, and that is barely, knows why or from where he comes from. In Bevelle, he had lived ever since he could remember, taken in by a mysterious man named Ashura, who took him in and treated him as his own child or his little brother. Ashura tutored him in magic and taught Fye how to control the massive amount of magic power he possessed. Most of Fye’s magic was restrained because it was too great and would grow and maybe destroy him someday.

After some time, when he’d lived there for a while, they were both caught up in a commotion with several supernatural creatures, where it was revealed that Ashura was the origin and cause of the many deaths that was the result. Fye started blaming himself for the fact that he couldn’t have done anything and couldn’t bear himself to kill Ashura. Instead, he put a spell on the man and let him fall asleep. He now has fled Bevelle since he does not wish for Ashura to come after him. Somewhere in the middle of this, a lot of different things happened and Fye got to know a couple of new people whom he started to care about, even though, he wished not to. He thought that anyone being too close to him would get hurt.

Then, the source of Fye’s magic, one of his eyes, was taken by a friend he made on the way, and to prevent that he died, another one made him agree to become a vampire so that he could live. However, he didn’t wish for that. Fye wanted to die. He now is bound to this friend of his for blood to survive, since he can only drink from that person. The person in question is someone that he got separated from on the way to the school and now he’s not really that cheerful about going on alone. Even if he... at the same time prefers not to meet him again. Because he doesn't want to cause him more harm with being the one feeding off of him. He figures he can make do without blood. And die in peace if he does so, leaving no trace and never have to bother anyone again.

He got an invitation from the school because of the many accomplishments he's shown while being a student under Ashura. Fye never hid his magic in the beginning, and was pretty well known as being a very skilled magician in the water and ice area. He doesn't really look forward to getting to the school, as he fears to have to use his magic again even though he has no such wish. Despite that, he feels like he might get away and try again in a new place. It sounded better than wandering around anyway. Despite everything he says, he misses his companions deeply, but he would never admit it that easily.

Fye doesn’t like to use his magic. At all. He doesn’t want to, since he believes that Ashura might wake up and chase him if he does. He’s even promised himself to never use magic again. Ever. Though, there comes times when he has to, and those times he always writes it off as a “side track” and “no real magic” if he uses something slightly different than what he normally uses. Fay’s magic is “written” out as he casts it, either by using a magical staff or his hand. Though, no one really knows to which extend Fye’s magic reaches since he absolutely refuses to use it mostly. Despite that, he was the strongest living magician in Bevelle before Ashura’s shifting. Now, when one of his eyes was stolen, his magic is halved, and will, in time, deplete since the stolen eye were the one that grew, while the one left was the one that would die one day. Fye’s magic is what makes him age so slow, and it’s believed that he won’t last long without it. However, now that he’s a vampire, he doesn’t have to worry about it. There also seems to be an emotional element to his magic; the stronger his emotions are, the more powerful his spells. If he breaks down, he might destroy a good part of the surrounding area as a result. Also, if he starts to loose his vision, his magic will automatically falter since it’s directly connected to his eyes. He will eventually lose it completely. After becoming a vampire, Fye also heals at a rapid pace, and that is the only thing that will keep him alive after loosing his powers.

At the moment, the powers Fye can use seals of different sorts and ice and water magic. Even so, it will be very scarce. He will still be able to sense magic, however, around himself and inside others. That, and he is a vampire.

PERSONALITY

At first meeting, Fye is enigmatic and lively, never too late to deliver a joke or be your overly cheerful guy. He appears happy-go-lucky and good-natured as well as very carefree all the time. He loves teasing people and if you’re unlucky, he might even think of a ridiculous nickname for you. He seems to enjoy teasing the easily ticked-off people most and always runs off laughing when threatened with bloody murder for his antics. However, despite this, he does know how to hold himself in a fight and is a really skilled hand to hand fighter. This is what he seems to be on the outside. But once you get to know him, and, if you manage the almost impossible; get under his skin, you’ll find a very emotional and deeply scarred person. He carries a big emotional burden on his shoulders, and he doesn’t seem to see the strength he would have if he tried to care for himself more. He values his own life very little and wouldn’t mind throwing himself in front of danger if it would save someone he cares about; despite the grief it would cause his closest. When Fye is fighting in a battle, he does so very recklessly, and would only fight for real if it meant it would help if someone dear to him would be in danger. He hides his unhappiness behind a shell of happy faces and smiling taunts and silly tricks. If you would ever encounter him about his emotional state and show that you actually see trough him, he would give dark and/or enigmatic answers, either carefree ones that stray from the topic at hand, or those that are merely weak excuses for leading the life he does. He can’t seem to get over his past, and to make up for it, he hides it all behind a mask of smiles. Fye lies a lot to keep this façade up and he does it even when you see trough him. He can also be found using part of his magic to save others even though he already promised not to use it and isn’t using it if it would help saving himself in a tricky situation.

Fye refuses to let people close to himself or attach himself emotionally to anyone. He regrets it when he does and believes it will only bring them harm and that they are better off without him. After being forced into being a vampire to survive (something he didn’t want to), he’s turned colder towards people he holds close and who knows how he really is. He draws into himself more and more and gives an aura of silent depression whenever he lets his guard down. Though, despite that, he might be returning to his old self more during his stay at the school.

When Fye has someone he grows close to, he worries about them and cares about them and would go as far as breaking his own personal vows to see to it that they are safe. Someone, a someone Fye now is trying to forget as long as he stays here, (and hopes that someone will not arrive) once confronted him about this and said that Fye better figure out what he’s doing with his present and future, because his past has nothing to do with how he lives his life right now.

THIRD PERSON SAMPLE

Fye could have chosen to fly to the school, but… that had required magic. And he thought he would be asked to show some of it in the school anyway. And he wasn’t looking forward to that either. He stared out the window of the train and studied the occasional cloud passing by as the train sped onwards and upwards. Why the school was suited at flying height, he didn’t know, but he couldn’t help but be at least a little bit curious about the whole ordeal. Whoever had sent him that invitation had known about Ashura, and he wasn’t too comfortable about it. Not that the incident with the manslaughter in Bevelle had been a secret, but still. Someone knew he’d known Ashura. And now that someone was asking him to come teach at a school? Teach? Him? He wasn’t really teacher material, in his own opinion. Though, he had nothing against children.

If there were only children there.

He suddenly realized he knew absolutely nothing about the place he was heading for, and he found it a bit unnerving, but exciting still. Maybe he found something interesting to do while he was alive. And this was just one small part of that life. That long life. He didn’t want it anymore, but he had no choice.

He shook his head and tried to ignore the way a small child was looking at him from the opposite seat in the compartment. He was failing miserable and finally shot off a beaming smile at the kid who started laughing and then was hurriedly taken care of by an elderly woman who nodded apologetically at him before disappearing out the door with the boy who was chatting on about candy and cake that they were apparently having.

“I wonder how everyone is doing…” he mused and blinked as the train wheels whistled and they started slowing down to a stop. “That was fast.” Taking down his suitcase from the shelf above his head, he went outside and stepped off the train.
