NEWS ARTICLE

It's a shame that as advanced as we are in so many ways, there are still people out there who act like they have no morals, no rules to guide them in what's right and wrong. I hope they find the people responsible for this and let THEM see what it's like to be so scared for your life that you'd rather die of dehydration then go to the bathrom, ffs. . .

ETA: Because there was such a heated debate focused on the veracity of Col. Karpinski's statements, due to her involvement of the Abu Ghraib scandal, there is also this article. I think it's unfortunate that the only ones who are willing to step up and say something about what's going on are rediculed and debunked very quickly, while nothing is done about the very real problem of sexual assault in the military. . .

I feel bad for those that have to be the ground breakers, putting in their (hard) time to pave the way for the day that women can be treated equally in the military (I commend them for having a depth of courage and commitment that I do not have). I wonder how long it will take for that day to get here.

(I also hope that such acceptance does not come at the cost it has in previous instances: Another group is admitted and the "old heads" bond together in mutual hate and alienation of this new group. . .)
