Someone Turned 100 Today
Do you recognize the name below? Probably not!
Here is a fact that I found absolutely amazing that almost no-one knows or has openly shared about. That guy (who is actually a doctor) who discovered the drug/medicine LSD turned 100 today! Clarification: He was the first human to actually try the stuff... I read in medical journal about it. In seeing the picture of this man, he seemed very young in appearance assuming the photo that I say of him was somewhat recent!
Question: Why am I bringing this up?
Answer: Because this is a newsworthy event that has had culturally implications that have touched my life in an indirect way. Meaning: LSD caused the music landscape (and many other things) to be altered in many weird and twisted ways. So, with the world of music being a major part of my life, I thought this is very interesting.
Everything I have been reading about him and the stories about his experience with it has been very interesting! What a trip it must have been to be a teen or young adult in the 60s and be on the stuff. Not sure that I would have wanted to try it then, and I know that would not be interested now.
I have not yet seen any major news media (newspaper or television) exposure to this... I wonder why?!?
