The Day After the 30th Birthday Party
The be honest, I actually had some real fun last night... It has been so long since I got just to hang out and have some food and drinks with some people that have one thing in common. The food was good and the selection of drinks was not bad. It was nice to see his mom and dad since I have not seen them in several years. Same for some of the friend's that were there...
In this case, it was the fact thar we all knew tetrakatus, as it was for his 30th birthday (which is actually on Monday) that caused us to all to get together in the first place! Thank you for the invite and the fun, as I may now plan something for the magic day (or close to it!) that I turn 30...
Most of the time, when I know someone turns a symbolic age (like 16, 18, 21, 30, etc.) it is weird and odd but I never really think of it when it has or will happen to me... Time marches forward but I choose not to get caught up in the hype of it all.
Even this time, it is not bad. It just makes me more aware of my surrounding and where people are at in the cycle of life as compared to where I am now, will be then, or was then. Odd but cool to think I am in the position I am in or will be in. However, at the end (or the beginning) of each day, we are in charge of finding and capturing our own dreams and destiny... That is very important and should always be remembered, so as to continue to press onward and upward to achieve those life goals that everyone should have!
Today was odd. I feel lazy but I felt like I got a lot of little things done. Most of those things were things that really needed to be done sooner rather than later. So it was a mostly productive day off - even for a normal day plus the fact that it was the day after having some fun...
I initially was supposed to have a staff meeting at 10am - only for them to cancel it! A few weeks ago, I had preliminarily planned to go skiing with some friends today, but work is more important so I could not go with them at the last minute. Then work decided they would cancel the meeting early this morning - again!. Next I read in his journal that they did not have chains so were unable to go... Fun and changes were had by all of us!
Earlier tonight, I got a call from someone I work with who thinks we are paid and off tomorrow because of the holiday. Unable to validate, so I plan to go to work as normal unless they call me in the morning and say otherwise! Will anyone besides me be working? I doubt it! Schools, banks, and most government offices are closed but I will be at work just like every other Monday.
Meanwhile, I did some cleaning around the house and some laundry. I also have made a financial plan for the rest of the month after two bills that came due sooner than I expected. Also, I have begun to plan for one of my business proposals. I have a meeting scheduled, and I have almost finished one of the required research reports on a related subject. Well, I have two more emails to compose and send and then I am off to go to bed... Until the morning comes!
