U.S. Government Looking at Phone Records

Did you know that the government doesn't need a court order to view or monitor phone records? They just need to call someone and the three companies that are co-operating with their requests are just handing them over. No questions asked! I have nothing to hide or worry about, but how can this not be some kind of civil rights violation? If they can ( Read more... )

I agree. The Bush Administration has gone too far on too many things. We should have realized that this was a natural course for what I believe to be the administration that has put politics as their first reason for doing anything.

We still are more free than many places. But we need to be careful. One of the biggest problems is, in fact, that as the government becomes too tight, the counter clash may bring us too loose, and that could be worse yet. But without the counter clash, we will continue to get worse.
