The reason why I don't eat meat is not because I feel bad for the animals. If you need to survive, eat it. But that's the thing. We don't need it to survive. Actually, we're farking ourselves over by eating meat. It's not sustainable. It's bad for the environment. It's not energy efficient. It's expensive. i agree with you..now. i went vegie when i was 15/16 and was very into the animal rights movement etc but as i grew up and matured i read similar articles to what you read and i'm now glad i don't eat meat for those reasons more than anything. a friend of mine just went to south america and she was shocked at the destruction that goes on in the rainforests...they grow grains they never would have grown before for animal feed like you said. the photos are really scary and quite sad. rapeseed oil is now more valuable for these poor nations than keeping the rainforests. the worse thing is, the people who deserve the money from the sale of the grains don't feel the benefits and they are as poor as ever.

I totally agree.
When I was vegan, 16 & hanging out with animal rights activists this was still one of the main reasons for those people too. I just doesn't make sense why we en masse continue to be blind to the truth...

I stopped eating meat 'cause I didn't like it, but you're definitely right - people don't need it (in many places at least), and have moved from eating is occasionally to having it for two or three meals per day... way overkill, and not to mention the environmental effects and efficiency.

I love Burger Fuel, it's the only burger joint I know that takes vegetarians seriously, not just having one (or no) 'vege option'.
