Did she do it??

Well, even with only one project being worked on, and doing so good in the beginning with keeping up on blogging about it, I have managed to let 2 weeks go by without a post. *sigh* I guess I'm just not much of a blogger. I do much better with the finished project photo posts than anything else, but hopefully I'm getting a bit better about it ( Read more... )

Merry Christmas to you and The Husband too! I'm not so amazing though ..... just aggressively determined in the face of challenge. You know, if that customer in KM hadn't said I couldn't do it when I bought the yarn, I probably would still be knitting on the body of the sweater today. One of these days I'll have to track her down and thank her properly. Maybe I can put her on retainer to taunt me with the impossibility of the deadline I've given myself for projects of this magnitude LOL.

Excellent work! You did a great job on that sweater and you bounced back fabulously with the steeks. I'd like to do a sweater like that one day.

I do believe that Eunny writes about what steeks are appropriate for different types of yarns. For a slippery super wash yarn like Dale, I believe a sewn steek is recommended. Also, didn't the pattern recommend a sewn steek?

Merry Christmas to you and Paul!
Cheers,

You know, he really does appreciate my knitting. Not the finished project, but the time and effort that is put into creating it. He was really upset over the steeking problem. There I was, the knitter, not in a panic (just annoyed to no end), and he had this long face and looked like he was going to cry. He kept saying "It's not because it's my sweater, it's all the hard work you put into it. Is it ruined? Can you fix it?" And, you're right about the sewn steeks. Now that I know my sewing machine can handle gliding over knitting, I'll probably use them every time.

I hope you had a great Christmas!!

Wish I had half your talent and I'd be a happy knitter. Makes all those socks I knit look pretty sad. So proud you finished the sweater by Christmas. I'd have been over at Riverside in ER if I had to cut that thing. Sock Princess
