Taking a croissant Fuu smiled at Mister Braxiatel. They were indeed all only 'operating from the perspective of their own finite universes.' But this is what made this meeting, however impromptu, so important. They all had different preconceptions and assumptions, and therefore could ask questions that the others might not have thought of.

Case in point was Miss Sophie's question. She hadn't really considered it, but Mister Braxiatel did seem amazingly knowledgeable about telepathy. On Earth it was more on the 'fiction' side of 'science fiction', yet she'd experienced it in Cephiro when Windam had spoken to her. Had it become more 'science' in the future ( ... )

Fuu shook her head at Miss Sophie's question. "Not a thing, and not for lack of trying." And part of that 'trying' included trying to get a job here. She'd not been accepted at Town Hall, so she intended to put in an application with the Library on Monday. Or, well, whenever things got back to normal and there was someone there to take her application.

The town residents were kind enough, but unsettling. They truly were like RPG NPCs - it seemed like they'd keep walking around saying the same things while the world ended next door. She'd never quite thought of RPGs the same way since Cephiro, and now she felt like she might not be able to play them for a long time again.

She blinked in surprise at Mister Braxiatel's question. It was obvious to her, and she said, "as there is no public transport and the town is very small, of course bicycles are the best method of transportation. Why wouldn't they give us a bike, when it's as natural as giving us a roof over our heads?"
She didn't get any of what he was referring to - Edge of ( ... )

How impressive, that magic seemed to be so prominent in Miss Sophie's world. She wished she could travel there to visit, rather than being stuck here against her will. (Well, if magic there was also a function of will, perhaps it could be possible?)

She felt a moment of excitement when her account seemed to allow Miss Sophie to recall something. So perhaps the flash and the man weren't her own experience? She'd need the testimony of more people to be sure, however.

Fuu considered Mister Braxtiel's question carefully. What was he getting at? But the more the thought about it, especially with Miss Sophie's reasonings, the more odd it did seem. Could it be that some of the residents were trying to help them, even if it didn't really seem like it ( ... )

Fuu nodded thoughtfully - three out of a dozen (or however many new residents there were now) was too much for coincidence. Yet it was too few for a definitive affirmation ( ... )

"Summoned," Fuu confirmed with a nod. Ever since Mister Braxiatel's question on the clue about language she'd had last time, it had been turning over in the back of her mind. What that clue had revealed about the why of them being summoned to Cephiro. Perhaps it was incredibly close to what was happening here after all ( ... )
