Croix was beginning to come to the conclusion that there was nothing the town could throw at them that wouldn't give him a bad feelings about things. The sudden appearance of the Hill of Metafalica? Hopefully that wasn't some attempt at being comforting, because it definitely managed the opposite. He was grateful he wasn't the only one put off by this, though, and he appreciated that Hawk was willing to investigate with him.
"We could go in order," he suggested, studying each of the doors. "Maybe they're connected somehow - numbered that way for a reason."
"Could be! We won't find out unless we look inside." Hawk headed over to the door marked #1, and reached out, testing the door. It responded, and he took his other hand out of his pocket, turning towards Croix. "Looks like that might be easier than I thought!"
He pushed the door open more fully, enough to get a glimpse of the first few rows of plants. "Ah… what's this?"
"I guess we're lucky," Croix said when the door easily swung open. He moved to get a better few of the inside before stepping in himself.
"It looks like a huge garden..." He carefully looked the plants over. "I'd be willing to bet this is where the food in town comes from. The vegetables, anyway."
He moved down one row, peering under some of the plants' leaves, and nodded. "Easier than getting them all in from somewhere else… and it explains why there's nothing like this in the town itself."
