And it made me think.... Old Toonami ruled.
Let me start things off by one of my personal favorites -

Outlaw Star, or as I joked about, Cowboy Bebeop Lite, but when you think about it, they are two completely different beasts altogether. The concept of bounter hunters in space, working off of odd jobs and constantly being harassed by a really hot catgirl was probably one of the main reasons I got into wanting to be an animator. Also the opening pretty much summed up the entire story; Gene gets bounty, gets into trouble with friends, gets into something epic, repeat. Outlaw Star is my favorite Toonami show of all fucking time.

Samurai Troopers/ Ronin Warriors. Also known as 'Ryo of the Wildfire Power Hour', the show can be best described as 'Some best friends get together and go kick some ass because some dude's girlfriend got wronged'. Vague, yes, but when you watch it, you wonder when all the other guys will do something, because the show revolved around 'RYO OF THE WILDFIYAAAAAAAAAH!', and how all his friends lend him the strength for EVERY situation. Spotlight hogging aside, the show was a classic.

Tenchi Muyo! series, specifically Tenchi Universe (Or simply Tenchi Muyo TV). One man, lots of women, a crazy father and a badass gran-pappy. Oh, and the pet eats carrots and turns into a ship. Yup, this show was chock full of classic anime humor. Lots of hot bitties (Ryoko), alot of random plots (At least in Universe), and a mediocre third series (Tenchi in Tokyo...). It is one of the series that represents 'my love for the 90s.'

Sailor Moon. This needs no introduction. You've seen Saint Seiya, then you know what this is, only with a lady cast. The only series that never made it to America was I think Sailorstars. Man, remember when you ran home from school as fast as you can after 8th grade art class to go home to catch this, knowing it started the Toonami segment on Cartoon Network. Man, sure as an adult, you can drink, smoke, and have sex (legally.), but man.... anime these days.... sigh.... Man, being an adult sucks.

The Gundam series. Specifically, I'm posting G Gundam. Why? To piss off everyone of the 'Dur, G-Gundam is for faggits' group. Because heaven forbid we throw in 'Fighting Game' elements to our big fucking robots. (The creators themselves said they wanted to do it since fighting games were popular and wanted to attract a new crowd.) 08th MS Team was good too, and Gundam Wing invented yaoi. Dude, the main character from G-Gundam FINGERBANGED HIS ENEMIES! That's really cool. Also a trivia for you Smash Brothers-obsessed psychos: Ike's alternate costume is Domon Kasshu. Yeah, so keep that in mind when you do his 'Fuck-You' Final Smash. The east? Oh that. Yeah, it's burning red....

The Big O. Talk about your mind fuckups. Hell, the opening song is inspired off of Queen! The main character was dubbed by Steven 'Bigger-Dick-Than-You' Blum. But dude. Seriously, The Big O, is like anime Batman. If you love Bruce Wayne, then you'll love Roger Smith. If you love Alfred, then you will love Norman. If you love Robin, then you'll love R. Dorothy, who is a female emotionless robot version of Robin. The opening was the same style of 'pop-art' like Cowboy Bebop, Lupin, and Black Lagoon. Cast in the name of God, ye not the guilty! We have came to terms! I'm still waiting for an anime opening done in the style of Smooth Criminal.
Oh SHIT! BIG O SHOWTIME REMIX?!

Also inspired by a classic rock song.
Hmmmm.... now that I think about it.... Sunrise did ALOT of the shows that were on Toonami, save for a few titles.
There was also Dragonball. Alot. and lot. Of Dragonball. And some other things as well.
Bah, what is your favorite CLASSIC Toonami show?
Hold that thought, I have to go drop a 'Mega-Deuce' *Gets boo'd for forced Big O humor*
