Title: Faraway, So Close
Word count: 795
Rating: PG
Pairing: Yesung/Kyuhyun (Super Junior)
Summary: Yesung isn't really the type who misses people. Or so he says.
Yesung isn't really the type who misses people. When he had first moved out of home to live in the dorm with the rest of the members, he didn't miss his family or Cheonan all that much. His family had come to visit him a few weeks later, and he remembered feeling ill at ease as his mother started sobbing at the mere sight of him. Even his little brother was a bit teary-eyed.
It's not that he's callous or doesn't have deep feelings for his family, but he thinks he's just not the kind of person who focuses on things that he doesn’t have around him. Besides, he's not entirely cut off from them; he talks to them on the phone a lot, texting his brother almost daily.
It’s a little different, though, after the Super Junior-M members left to stay for an extended amount of time in Taiwan. The dorm feels much emptier, much quieter than he thinks it would. It doesn’t help that the remaining members seem to be feeling it more.
At least once every day, Leeteuk sighs loudly and says, “Why is this place so quiet?”
Heechul chimes in, “I think I might get sick if I keep seeing the same faces over and over- oh no, it’s him again!” He shrieks in mock horror and covers his eyes with his hands as Shindong enters the room.
Yesung thinks this is because, unlike previously, Eunhyuk and Sungmin also went away, leaving even fewer of them behind. He is vaguely aware that he’s feeling the loss of one particular member, the youngest one, more acutely than the others. But he’s not ready to admit that to himself, not yet.
Not even when the aforementioned member is talking to him through video call, telling him about the exotic locations SJ-M traveled to and the food over there which taste “absolutely fantastic, hyung, you gotta try it”. Yesung just listens, noting how Kyuhyun's eyes sparkled with excitement as he speaks.
With a flash Yesung remembers those same eyes staring at him, baffled and surprised but undeniably delighted, after they shared a brief, fiery kiss backstage during a concert when no one was looking, no audience to please but the two of them. Yesung didn’t know what it meant - still doesn’t, really, and now Kyuhyun is seemingly within arm’s reach but is in fact separated from him by an ocean, leaving him with a prickling hollowness inside that he doesn’t know how to deal with.
“....hyung? Are you listening?”
Yesung forces a smile and replies, “Yeah, sure.”
On the computer screen in front of him, Kyuhyun pauses for a moment, eyeing him with curiosity, and then a corner of his mouth lifts up slyly. “Miss me much?”
Yesung snorts and tries to explain how the concept of him missing Kyuhyun is too alien to ever cross his mind, but somehow Kyuhyun’s grin just gets wider and wider. He’s about to tell him to wipe it off his face when Ryeowook and Donghae pop up behind Kyuhyun and begin to wave at him eagerly. Then Leeteuk comes in and squeals at the sight of his beloved dongsaengs on the monitor, and Yesung takes the opportunity to slink away quietly.
Yesung isn't really the type who misses people. But he’d be damned if he doesn’t admit that the day Kyuhyun and the others return to the dorm, dragging a lot more baggage than they departed with, he has the biggest smile on his face. He hugs each one of them (in Kyuhyun’s case, probably a little tighter than necessary), then somebody brings out food and drinks and suddenly it’s an unplanned homecoming party.
In the middle of it, Kyuhyun pulls at the arm of his shirt and says, “I brought you some souvenirs.” They retreat to Kyuhyun’s room, where he sits and digs into one suitcase after another. “I think it’s in here somewhere, let’s see... no, this t-shirt’s for Minho. Wait a sec...”
Yesung stands and watches, noticing how the younger man’s cheeks have filled out just slightly since he last saw him - must be all the Taiwanese food. Instinctively he reaches out and touches Kyuhyun’s cheek with the back of his hand.
Kyuhyun looks up, and Yesung could’ve removed his hand, except he doesn’t. Kyuhyun smiles and says, “You did miss me, didn’t you?”
The last thing Yesung wants is to stroke Kyuhyun’s already inflated ego, but he looks too darn good like this, head tipped up to face him, lips just a tad bit parted. Entirely too enticing to be true. Yesung leans over and kisses him, and he thinks it’s like finding the final piece of a puzzle. He can feel Kyuhyun smiling against his lips, fingers slowly wrapping around his waist.
Title: You Jump, I Jump, Jack
Word count: 455
Rating: G
Characters: Yesung-centric, with Super Junior shenanigans
Summary: His band mates know very well that Yesung never shies away from a challenge.
The first thing Leeteuk notices when he enters the waiting room at the TV station is how the members are either laughing uproariously, sitting and holding their stomachs because they can’t laugh anymore, or attempting to hold it in despite the giggles bursting out of them. All except for Yesung, who has a bitter, resigned smile on his face, the expression of one who had got the short end of the stick.
“What’s going on?” Leeteuk asks, and he has to wait until one of them composes himself enough to speak. Donghae does, finally.
“We were playing around and Yesung-hyung lost, so he had to accept the punishment,” he says. “And because he watches a lot of movies, we thought of something really good.”
“Go on, show him!” Heechul prods Yesung with an elbow, a devious grin on his face.
Sighing, Yesung says, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.”
Leeteuk regards him for a moment. “Wait, isn’t that a line from...”
“Exactly!” Eunhyuk claps his hands in glee. “He can only speak using lines from famous movies.”
“But isn’t that tough?” asks Leeteuk. Knowing Yesung, though, it’s not like he’s going to shy away from a challenge - something the whole group knows very well.
Yesung makes a face between a smile and a grimace. “You jump, I jump, remember?”
The others exploded into laughter once more. “He’s the best, isn’t he? Hyung, you’re the best!” Siwon proclaims, turning to Yesung to give him a high five, which Yesung grudgingly accepts.
“How long is he supposed to do it?” Sungmin asks.
“As long as he can, I think,” replies Shindong.
Yesung throws his hands up in the air in a gesture of defeat, saying, “This is my gift, my curse.”
This only makes the others laugh again, although some, like Ryeowook, are glancing at Yesung sympathetically, feeling sorry for his predicament but secretly glad they’re not in his position.
“Hey, come on, guys,” Leeteuk cuts in. “We’re going on air for the talk session in a few minutes.”
“Why don’t we let him speak to the viewers using movie quotes?” Kyuhyun suggests.
Yesung glares at him. “Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.”
In the end, Yesung stands at the back during the session, letting the usual chatty ones like Leeteuk, Eunhyuk and Shindong and the others dominate the talk. Luckily the show’s MC doesn’t throw any questions his way, so all he has to do is smile and look good.
Afterwards, fan accounts from those attending the taping start to appear online. A lot of them comment on how Yesung-oppa unfortunately doesn’t get a line in, but that he looks gorgeous as usual.

End note: Thanks for reading! I wonder if anyone can guess from which movies the quotes are from, LOL.
