Why I'm Friends Locked

This is in direct response to unrulynarrator  and his post on this very subject.

What I express on LJ is pretty much my pure uncensored self that I really don't want to share to the whole world.  LJ now allows people commenting on Friends Locked posts to Tweet or Add to Twitter and Facebook.  This completely defeats the point of Locking posts.

So when I do my settings, do I want the pingbacks open or disabled?

Pingbacks only relate to your public entries and track to see if someone else linked to that entry or not. In general, unless you are using your LJ as a blog, you should turn off (disable) pingbacks.

Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea what pingbacks were when I saw the message.

I hate posting stuff friends only because I like linking my mandane weekend posts onto my Facebook. I try to keep it as boring as possible.

I was going to threaten potential FB / Twitter posters with the deadly D3FRI3NDED, but I don't actually think anyone will do it. On purpose. It's the day LJ inevitably makes it opt-out without telling anyone that I worry about. You know they're gonna.

Yeah I toyed with that as well, I just also know how easy it is to accidentally hit the spacebar at the wrong time and accidentally click Facebook/Twitter on. All this makes me very nervous.
