Name: Sam. (Female!)
Age (13 or up; we stick to LJ rules): 19.
Location: Texas.
Where did you hear about this community? (Please tell us which lj user recommended you for he/she shall be given a point.)
hogwarts, I think. Somewhere along in my LJ wanderings.
How much time are you willing to invest in this community?
Considering I won't be paid for my time ... eh, whenever I'm online, I frequent many communities. So I would probably be a familiar face.
PART 1 - Canon
1. Have you read all the books?
Yep. And I WILL be sitting on my front porch next Saturday, waiting for #6 to come in. Stupid UPS guys better bring that thing fast.
2. Give us your personal interpretation of each Hogwarts house (in terms of atmosphere, mentality, intra-house relationships et cetera - these are just a few examples).
I hardly ever look at things more than face value, so my interpretation is pretty much cliche: Gryffindor are courageous and brave. Slytherin are cunning and witty. Ravenclaw are intellectual and sharp (AND a bit of a mystery). Hufflepuff... well. They're stable. Many seem like wimps, but Cedric was a Hufflepuff, and I liked Cedric as a character.
As for intra-house relationships... hmm. Again, haven't taken it beyond face value. Gryffindor and Slytherin are opposites in a moral sense, while Ravenclaw is a close second to the tied firsts. Hufflepuff is just determined to stay on the map.
3. What would be your favourite flavour of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans and why (note: as the name implies, all possible flavours exist)?
Boogers. :D Only if they taste like my boogers though - a little salty (ew, omg gross, yes, I know - I'm 19 and still can't kick the sneaky booger-eating habit - sue me).
4. If you were on your House’s Quidditch Team, which position would you preferably play and why?
None of them. I'm most definately not a sports person. But if I absolutely MUST play... probably beater. Because I'm violent like that.
5. (Optional) What HP conspiracy theory do you hold true unless it is textually proven otherwise? (i.e. Snape is a vampire, Ron is Dumbledore, etc. -there are loads of these theories. Feel free to contribute your own)?
Eh, again I don't really think much (yes, I know I need to use this wonderful brain of mine). And if I recall correctly, JKR quashed the vampire theory? And wtf, Ron is Dumbledore? XD; (Anyone have a link to THAT one with detail?)
6. (Optional. If you can't answer #5, make sure you answer this one.) What is your favorite book aside from HP and why?
I really enjoyed that Eragon book. :D Dragons are teh cool.
7. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
Apart from it looking exactly like Hagrid's Hut..." It would be filled with animals. Lots of them. Mundane and fantasy. And? Wall-to-wall books on their care. I love learning about animals.
8. Describe your wand and tell us why you picked that design.
Ohm. Hmm. Cherrywood (because it's VERY pretty when polished :D) with a light maple base. The core would be made of a dragon heartstring (yay dragons! *waves flag*), about eight and a quarter inches long. Just the right size to stick in a back pocket (but according to Moody, that's a good way to blow off the buttocks!). Rather bendy. Good for potions and okay at charms.
Why'd I choose all that? Because light and dark woods look pretty together, dragons are spiffy, and potions and charms would be my favorite classes. :3

What's Your Personality Type? 10. Who is your role model and why?
Can't say I really have one. I don't really "look up" to anyone.
11. What would you like to have accomplished at the end of your life?
The classic American dream: big house, awesome husband, 2.5 kids. The works.
12. Would you sooner commit a crime against your kin or your countrymen?
Depends on my gain. For a couple million dollars, quite possibly, if the plan was foolproof. If there was a chance in me being caught... then no. I'd rather NOT live inside a place made of cinderblocks and concrete, thanks.
13. What would your animagus be and why?
A SUGAR GLIDER (it's a little squirrel thing, for those that don't know - but it's a marsupial). Because it's my second favorite animal. They're extremely smart and curious. Fantastic little creatures and they can get just about anywhere. As the name implies, they can glide, which means their jumping skills are quite extraordinary.
14. What would your patronus be and why?
Probably a cat or a big cat. Because to me, something large and with claws, is a symbol of protection (if it's on your side!).
15. What career would you consider if you were indeed part of the wizarding world and why?
Probably a pet store owner. Because of my love of animals... except I dunno if the wizarding world has an overpopulation problem like the real world has, soo. I would breed my own animals or aquire them from reputable resources (not like Hagrid and getting the dragon egg from the pub, eh?).
I'm just curious as to where people would stuff me. :3
