LUMOS SORTING APPLICATION

Name: Robin

Age (13 or up; we stick to LJ rules): 17.. 18 in December

Location: Newtown, Connecticut aka The Town Of Boredom. Imagine a town
where the "cool hangout" is the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot. Yeah.Â

Where did you hear about this community? (Please tell us which
lj user recommended you for he/she shall be given a point.)Â Â I happened upon
this community by searching for communities to amuse me while I rot of boredom
in this damned town.

How much time are you willing to invest in this community? I am willing
to invest an abundant amount of time in this community, sharing ideas,
participating in discussions, and overall, being my crazy self.

PART 1 – Canon

1. Have you read all the books? I have read and I own all of the books.
I usually read each book at least twice, often looking for important little
tidbits I can muse about. I've read some fanfiction, but I tend to shy
away from it all together, afraid of attaching myself to some element that may
never be explored in the actual text.

2. Give us your personal interpretation of each Hogwarts house (in
terms of atmosphere, mentality, intra-house relationships et cetera –
these are just a few examples).

Gryffindor- Obviously Brave, I believe that Gryffindors are driven by
their need to explore, and to expand their boundaries.  This is most clearly
seen in all of the adventures Harry, Ron and Hermione get themselves into.  I
believe that, for Gryffindors, this need for exploration encompasses everything
else in their lives, the need being deeply driven in their personalities. I also
believe that Gryffindors have a "hero/ine complex" and have deeply driven
morals.

Slytherin- I don't believe that all Slytherin are evil, but I do believe
that they must be either somewhat selfish, or have deep pride in themselves. I
know it is a tad cliche, but they must be truly cunning and clever individuals.
They are those who have a drive for success by any means, which may be the
reason they are often painted as sinister characters. I find that in most
Slytherin characters introduced in the book, while clever, have deep
insecurities about themselves, which causes them, in turn to take their flawed
pride and use it against others.Â

Ravenclaw- Definately based in intelligence, Ravenclaws have a burning
desire to learn everything about the world around them. When I picture a
Ravenclaw, I picture books and libraries and classrooms.  A true Ravenclaw must
enjoy learning, and must always try their best to speak eloquently and sound
educated.

Hufflepuff- I believe that Hufflepuffs are the level-headed bunch at
Hogwarts. Not having really any personality trait dominating their exsistence,
they are driven to bring some sort of justice, and fairness to the plate. A big
determining factor of this feeling must be the fact that these individuals seem
to be looked down upon in the Hogwarts community, therefore sympathetic to
others who may be

3. What would be your favourite flavour of Bertie Bott’s Every
Flavour Beans and why (note: as the name implies, all possible flavours
exist)? Hmm.. that's a tough question. I suppose it would have to be mint
chocolate chip. Ah, yes. The mint and the chocolate flavors all mixed in
together, *salivates* heaven.Â

4. If you were on your House’s Quidditch Team, which position would
you preferably play and why? Hmm.. I would have to say, Seeker. I wouldn't
really enjoy the action of most of the other positions, because I don't find
myself rather athletic at all. But, I have good reflexes and am somewhat quick,
so I believe finding the snitch wouldn't be that hard for me.

5. (Optional) What HP conspiracy theory do you hold true unless it
is textually proven otherwise? (i.e. Snape is a vampire, Ron is
Dumbledore, etc. –there are loads of these theories. Feel free to contribute
your own)? Hmm. The Vampiric!Snape sounds like an awesome theory. I'm kind
of obsessed with vampires, and am dying for Rowling to introduce these creatures
into HP. So, yeah, I'm all for Snape being a vampire.

6. (Optional. If you can't answer #5, make sure you answer this
one.)Â What is your favorite book aside from HP and why? My favorite series
of books would have to be The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. Not only because
the whole thing revolves around vampires, but because each different character's
lifestory is set in a different time period, and I adore reading the
descriptions of the different important events, as well as the way they used to
dress and how this developed their personalities.

7. What would your Room of Requirement look like? Besides looking exactly like Hagrid's Hut? My Room Of Requirement
would be a dimly lit room, filled with comfortable couches and a library that
changes with each mood.  It would also have soft, soothing music being played,
preferably something classical, but also changing with moods.

8. Describe your wand and tell us why you picked that design. Basing my
entire desicion on an online test here it is: 11 2/3", Oak, Veela

"Oak signifies wisdom, endurance, protection, and authority. The veela hair as a
wand core means that you are slightly unpredictable but very powerful."Â

What's Your Personality Type?

10. Who is your role model and why? I don't really define any role
models, mainly because I find no use for them. Yes, there are many people I

that kind of thinking only leads to disappointment, because you cannot become
another person, you can only, in the end, become yourself.

imagine myself dying in a wonderfully peaceful state, knowing that everything

most of the time.

patronus would have to be a leopard. Such strong and sleek animals, I admire
them deeply.

15. What career would you consider if you were indeed part of theÂ
wizarding world and why? i would probably pursue becoming a Professor of
some sort, because I strongly believe in spreading the knowledge you've obtained
to others. I would also enjoy the feeling that I may have touched another's
heart, and sparked an interest that would never have bloomed if it hadn't been
for myself.
