catherine_lump posted it on deleterius a while ago.

How much time are you willing to invest in this community?

My attendance may vary, but I'm always up for interesting discussions. I like the idea of this community, so I'd like to spend a fair amount of time here.

PART 1 - Canon

1. Have you read all the books?

Up to five. Waiting on a kindly friend to lend me the new one.

2. Give us your personal interpretation of each Hogwarts house (in
terms of atmosphere, mentality, intra-house relationships et cetera -
these are just a few examples).

Gryffindors seem to make a lot of split-second, intuitive decisions, sometimes landing them in trouble, sometimes quickly getting them out of it. This also leads them to be rather judgemental. Therefore, members of what is judged to be the 'good' house do not associate with members of the 'bad' house, Slytherin, although they are otherwise quite friendly, and, of course, loyal.

Hufflepuffs seem like the most friendly house to me, the sorts who accept and nurture everyone no matter what, and are a lot of fun, too. They are the people that you just don't know what you'd do without, and are good at getting the ball rolling. They can be quite forceful in questioning authority if it stands in the way of what they see as good or necessary (why does it have to be done that way?)

Ravenclaws are all about knowledge. Not necessarily academic, nor are they necessarily good at school, although I think they have a drive for achievement and recognition that often pushes them to succeed. Ravenclaws can run into problems if they become too abstract and intellectual, neglecting relationships, or if they pull something (a skill, machine, ideology, whatever) apart, only to say, "Oh, that's how it works," and drop it. Ravenclaws often will 'try anything once'.

Slytherins know how to get what they want, whether it's through hard work, devious scheming, simply taking full advantage of opportunities, or all three. They can be very successful because of this, which makes others resent them. Slytherins put a strong value on family or social groups and social standing, which may manifest as cliques and shunning or as loyalty and protectiveness rivaling Gryffindor.

3. What would be your favourite flavour of Bertie Bott’s Every
Flavour Beans and why (note: as the name implies, all possible flavours
exist)?

Ooh, it would vary widely from day to day. Persian ice cream (vanilla and pistachios and rosewater, oh my!)

4. If you were on your House’s Quidditch Team, which position would
you preferably play and why?

Keeper. I'm not agressive enough to be a beater, although I might be able to be a chaser. And my sight's not that great, so seeker's probably out, despite our bespectacled hero. Really, I'd be off reading or drawing or something. Not a big sports fan.

5. (Optional) What HP conspiracy theory do you hold true unless it
is textually proven otherwise? (i.e. Snape is a vampire, Ron is
Dumbledore, etc. -there are loads of these theories. Feel free to contribute
your own)?

That Snape is really as much of a childish jackass as he seems. Don't get me wrong, I adore him, but no, he isn't secretly hiding a sweet cuddle-bunny nature, nor a hot toned and tanned body. I also strongly doubt he tangos.

6. (Optional. If you can't answer #5, make sure you answer this
one.) What is your favorite book aside from HP and why?

I'm bad at favourites. Er, do anthologies count? If not, too bad. Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man is a somewhat unified set of short stories (including The Veldt, which some of you may have read at school). Bradbury, like one of my other favourite authors, James Tiptree Jr., writes people who are incredibly real, regardless of gender or age, and has a command of may genres. The book has stories about an intersteller miracle-working Jesus, the last minutes of the crew of a spaceship that has exploded via their intercom communications, and the confusion of an invading Martian force when they are greeted with a band, speeches, and free movie passes.

7. What would your Room of Requirement look like?

Apart from it looking exactly like Hagrid's Hut... Well-lit, open, but with rather cluttered shelves. There'd be lots of comfy places to sit, although there'd be space suitable to work in, too. It'd have tea, and tea making materials, be full of plants, and probably more humid than most would like.

8. Describe your wand and tell us why you picked that design.

I'm really not sure. It might be cedar, as a symbol of life, not to mention the beloved temperate rainforests that cover B.C. Not sure what the core would be. I'm really helpfull, aren't I?

What's Your Personality Type?

10. Who do you admire most and why?

I don't really go in for role models. As I've said elsewhere, I'm either too arrogant or too independent, depending on whether you like me. There are lots of people I respect and admire, including Maynard James Keenan, Jean Cocteau, and my mother, but I want to find my own path.

11. What would you like to have accomplished at the end of your
life?

As much as I can, and still have fun. I'd like to achieve in artistic areas, but I'd also like to make a difference in some way regarding the things I believe in. It'd be best if I could do them both at the same time. I'd also like to obtain a certain level of spiritual enlightenment, but you can't really count on that.

12. Would you sooner commit a crime against your kin or your
countrymen?

This is a toughy. What would strongly impact it is: do I believe that what I'm doing, while illegal, is right, or at least beneficial? I put more personal value on my family than on my country, but if forced to choose, I'd rather commit a crime against my family, because it impacts fewer people.

13. What would your animagus be and why?

Probably a cat. ^_^ Kinda dull, but I'm already rather cat-like in my independent yet cuddly and playful nature, and I have a tendency to curl up and sleep in odd places. I'm also both a Leo and a Cat (Rabbit) (Chinese Zodiac), because as we all know, horoscopes are the be-all end-all of personality descriptions. ^_^

14. What would your patronus be and why?

Either a lion or a bird of some sort. To me, the lion symbolises protection and strength, and good luck, not to mention a strong fighting spirit. Birds, especially swallows, symbolise information/communication, freedom, beauty, and magic. In a lot of fairy tales, the hero or heroine is defended, transported, or informed by birds.

15. What career would you consider if you were indeed part of the
wizarding world and why?

I'd probably do much the same as I plan to do anyway: be a visual artist, teacher, an owner of a cafe, or (don't laugh) prophet. (Okay, actually, maybe you should) If I could teach a subject at a school like Hogwarts, it'd probably be History of Magic, because I think I could actually make it interesting and fun. I'd probably get in trouble for my historical recreations of goblin wars on the front lawn, but that's just fine. Being an auror appeals to my adventurousness, but I don't know if I'd be cut out for it.
