Dear Kai,

Never in my wildest dreams I would have thought of making it this far, me, a poor boy, raised in a orphanage in the outskirts of Inverness. Thanks to my hard work, good effort, and the guidance of the ever respectable Dr. Niikura, I made it through as one of the youngest most accomplished medical apprentices in the whole United Kingdom. My researches on the human brain and its connection to the human behavior, has won the favor of many of the honorable doctors sitting up high in the United Kingdom's Medical Department. They were so impressed with my deeds, that they offered me a place in London to further progress my research, in their highly equipped laboratories, and I was also given the privilege to hire my own staff, everything, of course, is being sponsored by the Kingdom. However, they would first like to test my abilities, given that I am still an apprentice, and currently working on getting degree. Thus, the reason why our real destination is not London, but the little town of Bexley, which is just a couple of hours away from the capital city, and after a week in a very nauseating boat ride, I am finally glad to have reached land, and if it weren't for the presence of Dr. Niikura, and the little dignity that I possess, I would have kneel, and kissed the oh so blessed ground beneath my feet.

Given my still fragile conditions, caused by my incessant regurgitating of the food that I was barely able to eat, Dr Niikura suggested we stopped for an hour or two at the residence of a dear friend of his, Lord Nishimura Tooru. His manor is quite immense and wealthy, which, in my opinion, doesn't seem to fit the rough around the edges behavior of its Lord, but I shall criticize no more, for I am very grateful of the hospitality, and Dr. Niikura appears glad to have finally meet up with an old acquittance. To be more precise, I don't think he fancied Scotland all that much. He had never openly expressed his dislike, but I could get hints in his occasional unusual behavior.

-Yutaka?- called a voice, preceded by a knock.

-The door is open - explained the young man inside the room, who turned to face the shut door.

-I do not need to come in, I am just informing you that we will depart in half an hour or so … - said the voice behind the door

-Understood. Thank you Dr. Niikura - gratefully replied the brunette, who had momentarily placed the writing feather on his open diary. - and please do extend my appreciation to Lord Nishimura as well-

-Not to worry, but you shall be able to do so in person as soon as we leave. - concluded the elder man, as the sound of his heavy footsteps left the proximity of the room.

Yutaka turned his gaze away from the door, looking outside the window in front of him. The sun was at the horizon, still glowing with the same intensity it had during that warm Spring day. He pulled his arms over his head in order to stretch, but soon decided against it, feeling signs of disapproval from his stomach. A resigned sigh left his thin lips, as he reminded himself of the delicacy of his body, and remembering they were to soon depart, he quickly grabbed the feather to conclude what he had previously started.

In conclusion, they are asking me to resolve the case of an unknown mental illness affecting the child of an notable aristocratic family residing in Bexley; the Hayashi. I can honestly say I have never heard of them, apart for one of their sons, Takanori Hayashi. His fame had crossed the sea, and reached us medical student, for he is the first man, or teenager given his mere age of nineteen, to have ever been working on his medical doctorate at such an early age, and in the field of surgery at that. Some say he is a prodigy, and I definitely have no doubt in believing so either. The two of us working together during my permanence, is certain to be an enriching collaboration. Moreover, according to Dr. Niikura, I am in for a unique and unforgettable experience; I sure do hope so.

Uke Yutaka

As he closed his diary, and grabbed it with his other belongings, he blew the candle resting on the right side of the desk, exiting the now dark room.

-I see you are ready to go!- smiled the short blond Lord with a shouting tone, as he harshly hit Yutaka's shoulder, who had just arrived at the main gate. The brunette managed to pull a friendly grin, as he intensely massaged his now sore shoulder, hoping that not all man in England had the need of getting so brutally physical, even if meant in a friendly way, for his body was so fragile that he probably might have needed a doctor himself at the end of his permanence in the foreign country.

-Lord Nishimura, I thank you for your hospitality, it had been nice to meet you - said the brunette with a bow, as he entered the carriage.

-Yeah Kyo! It has been a long time, it was really nice to see you indeed - added the elder brunette as he hugged his longtime friend.

-Now that you are back in England you should come and visit me more often, Harrow is not so far from Bexley, and ... we need to talk more serious business, more extensively - concluded Lord Nishimura in a serious tone

-I sure will - replied the other, as he bowed and entered the carriage.

In an other two hours or so, they would have finally reached London. Yutaka could have sworn to had been terribly tired just some minutes ago, but his arising interest in the notorious city, told his body otherwise.

-I am sure you most be excited - conjectured the elder brunette who was sitting opposite the younger.

-I am - simply stated the apprentice

-Before we get to London, I most warn you that all though it is a city rich of all source of good-willed innovation, and great wisdom, because it is a big city, you are also going to find all source of … let's say … unfamiliar situations and customs, that may unsettle you for the most part. Some of them, I will not lie, I would advice to stay away from, to avoid to get into unnecessary dangerous situations. Some others … may seem as bad, almost sacrilegious, but I am counting on your open mindedness and acute discerning abilities, to figure out how to deal, and maybe fix those … issues. Remember, every cloud has a silver lining - concluded the doctor with a wide confident smile, facing a now very confused Yutaka, who had no idea what the elder was, exactly, trying to warn him against. He didn't have too much time to ponder on it though, for the other cleared his throat, in a distinctive sign that he had something else to add.

-The same of course goes for Bexley and … the Hayashi family - calmly spoke the elder, who spotted a slightly concerned expression on the face of the younger. Yutaka was as well examining the face of the doctor, trying to use his previously labeled acute discerning abilities, to understand the true meaning behind the whole, paternal speech.

-Is there any way you could be more specific, Dr Niikura, … is there something you want to tell me? - attempted to ask the apprentice. The elder just gave him another of his serene, and reassuring smiles.

-You'll be fine Yukata, I have faith in you, that's why you here in the first place. - the young brunette replied with a nod and a -I'll do my best - after which they silently traveled the remaining of the trip to the now mysteriously intriguing city of London.

Yutaka slightly leaned his head out of the carriage, he could see the orange glow coming from behind a massive wall with a gated entrance, guarded by soldiers; they had finally reached London. The carriage passed the guarded gates without problems, and they were taken to the center of the city. When they arrived downtown, as the elder was busy paying, and getting directions from their coachman, the younger was trying to take in the whole city in one breath. His stupefied eyes were bouncing from store to store, as he observed every inch of the bustling city. They were well into night time, but the vigor with which its citizen were carrying themselves, made it feel as if it were still during the day. To his small town boy mentality, it was like a show, in which he was the unaware protagonist.

-Grandiose isn't it? - stated the elder, at which Yutaka managed to make some sort of nod, while he was looking up, observing the infinite street lamps with an even more dumbfounded expression.

-This way … and try to keep your eyes in front of you - suggested the taller brunette, as he held the younger by the chin, slowly pulling his face downwards. The younger slightly smiled and blushed at the touch of the elder, it was like being a child all over again, and he felt uncomfortable realizing that because of his constant dumbstruck expressions, the elder might have seen him in the same way.

-Before we head to our hostel, do you mind if we stop at a restaurant down the road? I must admit that I am still a little hungry - asked Dr. Niikura with a almost shameful look.

-Not at all - replied the younger

-Good. I have to quickly stop at that drugstore over there, I had a package I promised I would have delivered as soon as I got in. Meanwhile, could you be so kind to go get us seated? - requested the elder, pointing at a banner at the end of the street, which read From Heaven. The elder then placed a hand on his apprentice shoulder and resumed speaking

-Do you think you can make it there all by yourself without getting into trouble? - concluded with a little laugh, which only resulted in an offended glare from the younger. Yukata nodded for the umpteenth time that night, and freeing himself from the hand that was still on his shoulder, he directed himself toward the indicated location.

True, he was new to the whole big city experience, but he didn't want to be treat as a simpleton just because of that, he was pretty sure that whether he were to be in Inverness, or any other city in the New World, restaurants had to work all the same. He walked keeping his gaze fixed on the banner, occasionally looking left and right, as he crossed roads, and trying not to bump into other passengers.

He observed the restaurant's appearance. It had a tall lean black lamp next to it, which had made it possible to read the banner from afar. The letters that spelled the name of the place were written in black cursive, laying on a rather well painted cloud. Maintaining his gaze on the banner, he was absentmindedly going to push the door open, when a loud menacing sound coming from his feet, made him swiftly walk backwards. He looked down and made himself a mental not; stop looking upwards.

Facing him were two black dogs, grinding their teeth, and ferociously looking in his direction, as they got up from their sitting position. Yutaka didn't have problems with dogs in general, but those looked like two beasts, who could easily be guarding the gates of Hell. His rational thinking had gone out the window, and he was without a doubt about to panic, still he had to find a way to get in, for he could only imagine the laughter Dr. Niikura would make, if he had actually failed to even get into the restaurant.

-Good ...good boys … - he tried to utter as he made himself closer to the door, keeping his hands steady in front of him, ready to fight any possible attack, but the two dogs didn't seem to be swayed by his sweet words, and suddenly recommenced barking louder and faster than before. The sudden reaction of the two dogs, had shocked him once more making him quickly backup, but this time, something behind him blocked his retreat. He felt a cold liquid running down his back, and quickly turned around to find the tall figure of a blond wearing some sort of cloth around his nose, standing immobile, holding a pint of beer, which was now three quarters empty.

-I am terribly sorr- tried to apologize the brunette, but he fell silent as his eyes took in the enraged expression of the taller man, whose mouth was being held closed extremely tightly, and his eyes were glaring at him with the same intensity of those that had the sole goal of immediate murder. Yutaka quickly looked away, turning his head and gaze towards his feet. He now had two options; either dying eaten by two feral beasts, or by the hands of the yet to be killer, he himself had created. None of the options seemed better than the other.

The dogs resumed their war chant, as the blonde made a step towards the utterly terrified brunette, who tightly closed his eyes praying for whatever was about to befall on him, to be as painless as possible.

-Saga! Tora! Quiet! - yelled the blond, at which the dogs silenced immediately releasing a low timid groan. Yutaka slowly turned around and instinctively made another step backwards as he saw the blond leaning down to untie the free end of the leashes, which were tied to the street lamps pole. The stranger then held the leashes, picked up the almost empty pint he had momentarily placed down, and brought himself up, walking away from the still frightened brunette.

Yutaka deeply exhaled, feeling like he had breathed for the first time in the longest five minutes of his life . However, even though nothing had happened to him, given that he was still all in one peace, he couldn't feel yet relieved, in fact he knew that what was poking at his heart in that moment was guilt, for having wasted someone else drink. He turned around and still spotting the blonde head moving amongst a few other people, he began a slow run. He was about to touch the taller man's shoulder, but fear of the others reaction made him decide against it, thus he spoke up with a pronounced tone

-Sir? - but the blonde didn't even seem to acknowledge his presence. Thus, he cleared his throat with a semi-loud cough and tried again

-Excuse me sir, I could buy you ano- at that, the blonde abruptly stopped, looked towards him and spoke

-If you know what's best for you, you will turn on your hills, and go back to that restaurant - the tone was unquestionably cold and intimidating, but the brunette felt his rush of instant courage still running, and wasn't intending to give his good intentions yet

-but I- he attempted once more, at which the blonde brought their two faces so close to each other, that he could feel the taller man's irritated exhales, straight on his skin as he the other began speaking slowly and clearly.

-Did you not hear me ?- Yutaka wanted to do or say something, but the blonde's chilling stare, had set a block to his thinking abilities.

-Get lost. Now.- accentuated the stranger, at which the brunette swiftly bowed in apprehension, and did as instructed. Yutaka walked away not once turning back, wandering whether it would have been wiser for him to just start running for his dear life, in case the blonde had had any second thoughts about his act of mercy.
