I bought My Japanese Coach a few days ago. After taking the placement test, it started me at Lesson 3 - Numbers. So needless to say I need work.
I left off at Kana 1, which is going to drive me insane at first. Necessary evil... ~_~
Numbers:
One - Ichi
Two - Ni
Three - San
Four - Yon
Five - Go
Ich, ni, san, yon... go! (yes, they sometimes drop the ending i from ichi when counting)
Six - Roku (Hyde... album 666... rock)
Seven - shichi
Eight - Hachi (kinda like ocho in Spanish)
Nine - Kyuu (nine is cute ^_^)
Ten - juu
Teens... juu + number (i.e. 17 is juushichi)
Colors
White -shiroi (Shiroi is a song by Gackt)
Black - kuroi (simple to remember as the opposite of white)
Blue - aoi (manga - Aoi House... if I think of that as Blue House, I'll be set)
Red - Akai (what color is that acai fruit? It's in drinks with a reddish-purple color)
Green - Midori (Midori Days - the girl's hair is green)
Brown - Chairo (charred?)
Yellow - kiiro (I... have nothing)
Orange - Orenji Iro (Orenji No Taiyou - song from Moon Child about the orange sun)
Grey - Haiiro (um...)
Pink - Pinku (smack me if I forget)
Days of the Week (which I might throw onto my calendar for fun and practice)

Tuesday - kayoubi
Wednesday - suiyoubi
Thursday - Mokuyoubi
Friday - kin'youbi (explain to me why that has the ' in it)
