The real problem with soda is that it is full of high fructose corn syrup which is really bad for you and full of empty calories. I gave soda up years ago, but very, very rarely I'll have some. Usually around Christmas when I'm stressed and busy. I don't like diet soda either as it's nasty. Switching to water was the easiest. If I want something bubbily or fun, I buy organic or Italian sodas at Wild Oats.
ditto on the high fructose corn syrup. I too was addicted to my sodas...i switched to water w/ lemon, or fruit juices (only 100% juice, not juice w/ sugar or corn syrup)...i lost almost 20 pounds by doing nothing other than quitting the soda....
and, well, really, i just quit cold turkey. no more soda. I'll have a sprite occasionally when i got out drinking, wiht vodka or something, but otherwise, no soda at all. i found it easier than cutting back.
Well i can tell you i understand! After a year and a half of just one soda a day, i've fallen back into the habbit of buying liters of soda and drinking 2 or 3 sodas a day. So i say the Trigger is don't have the liter size sodas around, thats my problem. If that size is around i don't feel bad getting another glass, but i won't open another can of soda.
You're funny, unrelated to this post (battle of the pounds, bleah, I commiserate.) So I have to add you as friend. Don't worry no need to reciprocate if you don't want. I just enjoyed our recent banter. :)
