Well I name inanimate objects too, like my computers and car. But with the exception of my laptop, they are all female names. I tend to name them based on their 'personality'. I know that since they're not living they really don't have personalities, but i think cars and computers have a bit of spunk in them.

Not really. There's Mother Earth, and, and ... um, I'm going blank already, but I'm sure I heard lots of female ones too. lol I especially love how they tend to think of the weather as female, although that may be different from what you are saying here. Anyhoo.

Ships and cars are usually female
so not all inanimate objects are male
I agree that most of my stuffed animals are male
