That was a very bittersweet ending but I'm glad Val was accepting of Jon. i seem to recall the wildling's opinion of incest/Craster was not good.

That last big timeskip was a bit of a surprise but ending it with Ned's death seems very appropriate, like a GoT analogue. And its very nice to hear of Bran and Meera getting together. :) I can;t help but hope Joffery is a little saner in this verse.

Jon saying 'nope not going to sleep with her' like that and then proceeding to do just that seemed very like him. Shades of Jon/Ygritte from canon but I hope he manages to stay true to Val after this.

I'm glad you liked the ending! I wanted to show that the characters have grown and, even though they will always have feelings for each other, they care enough about their families/children to try and change.

With the wildling reaction to incest I was thinking about these old stories about people in Iceland, that long ago brothers and sisters being together was more accepted there because there were so few people.
