but can you name any of the gryffindors who died during their time at hogwarts before you came here?

Well, no, but I don't know the names of most of the ones who are still alive, either, unless I met them or they did something unusual. I think that's kind of how most of us are. We just sort of do whatever it is we do, and except for our friends, no one really knows us.
