Life is mostly about pretense. You say "ouch" as if you don't know that it will inspire the concern of others. I leave an uncaring reply as if I don't know that you will see through it. Or think you see through it, at any rate.

That's what you get for going to places where singing pub songs is not only permitted, but encouraged.
