That is the sound of hell freezing over as AMY BECOMES A CAREER WOMAN!!!
Welcome to the club.
As far as substantive, money making career advise, I suggest you look elsewhere since I am a total failure myself. Observation of my law school peers has led me to believe the only sure-fire road to success is to take over Daddy's company.
As for frivilous, surface advise (which, come to think of it, in the business world is the only thing that matters anyway) I say: Invest in a good suit, shoes, and briefcase. All the breaks I have gotten have come when I was dressed in the monkey suit. And look at Condi: totally out of her depth, but no one notices, because she looks so damn good doing it.
Best of luck.
(Seriously, if I think of anything good, I will let you know. Why not ask the agent who you met a few times for 10 min. to discuss what she expects of her assitants, how she got her career started, etc.? And I know you did not like it, but what of the ghostwriting career?)
