We're getting ourselves all together for our trip to Springfield, Illinois. We're heading to Longview Texas, to hop a train. Then it is about 17 hours of riding, arriving tomorrow morning.

Then we'll see our daughters. Woohoo!

Forrest J Ackerman (aka Uncle Forrey, Dr. Acula, 4E, 4SJ, and the Ackermonster, and many others) died last night.  He turned 92, last month.

Today is the 10th birthday of the International Space Station. The first module, Zarya (Russian for "Dawn") was launched on November, 20 1998.  There are still a few parts left, but she's almost finished.

The Station still has no name, other then the "International Space Station", or "ISS", round here.  There was talk of calling it "Freedom", then ( Read more... )
