You have to be critical of what people tell you. Questions to ask are 1. Do they know what they are talking about? 2. Is there real evidence to back up the answer to question number 1? 3. What is in it for them? 4. Is the information offered viable, does it make sense?
When it comes to a topic about which I have some knowledge, I tend to come from Missouri -- you'll have to show me you know what you're talking about for me to believe what you have to say
