Take Nothing For Granted

Aug 05, 2009 13:08

I received a phone call earlier today from almond_joyz.

This morning the Harry Potter fandom lost one of its own. simons_flower passed away suddenly at age 37 at her home in Seattle. Details are posted at tqpannie's journal HERE . She was a talented writer, mostly of Trio-related fics, although she dabbled in other pairings; she worked tirelessly as a founding member of The Read more... )

condolences, simons_flower

Oh that's awful. :( I used to have her on my flist many years ago, so I knew her, although we were never that close. She was always a really nice person, though. I knew she'd had health problems, but this is still shocking. :(

It really is shocking. I'd never met her, but I still feel like I've lost a friend.

Oh, how awful. Her poor family. *hugs* Thank you for telling the news and for writing such a nice tribute for her.

I really wasn't as close to her as many people, but I'd gotten to know her a little bit over the past year. She was such a strong, funny, and vibrant person - and she never stopped writing. It's so sad. Makes me appreciate the time I still have.

Oh my God, that's awful :( I never had the privilege to know her, but I'll be keeping her family and the people she left behind in my thoughts. May she rest in peace.

Thanks. I didn't know her well either, only through her LJ entries. But she was a remarkable writer, and a really good person.

Thank you, I will. She was really inspirational in the sense that she never (and I mean never) stopped writing. I remember calling her a "writing machine". One of her last posts was to apologize to people for not being able to write because she was ill. Reading that now really touches my heart. She loved what she did.

Thank you. *hugs* I wasn't very close to her, but I still found her to be a really remarkable person, and a fiercely determined writer.
