What better way to re-introduce myself to LJ than with a meme stolen from luvscharlie? I haven’t been around in a very very long time, but I am going to make a concerted effort to be here this year. I’ve missed it. Hope everyone had a great New Year!

100. Who was the last person to do something extra special for you?
My dad, who slipped me $100 just before I left to come back from L.A., because he said “I know you can use this.”

I think dads (and grandpas), no matter how old you are, do this consistently. Mine did the same when I left BC to head back to New Brunswick after visiting. Of course I've since moved back to BC and I'm super glad to not be out east right now... but it's got to be a dad thing.

By the by, how are you making do out there in the cold? It sounds wretched.

I'm really a Californian at heart (even though I was born on the east coast), and thus am not liking the cold at all. Right now we've gone back to a more 'seasonable' winter feeling, but the last week has been horrible.

Grandpa always used to give us $100 for Christmas every year (my mom's father - I never knew my paternal grandfather). My dad rarely does this, so it was a very nice surprise.

I can understand the whole Californian at heart thing... though I'm not Californian, but the lower Mainland of BC is pretty darn mild. The winters in New Brunswick were a huge factor for me moving back home. I just couldn't cut it.

Yay for nice surprises! :D

Even my dad does it, and my dad's anal with money. :)

I'm glad we didn't run out of gas on our trip back. We would have had a walking journey, at night, in the heat-- after seeing Stephen King, the King of Horror-- can you imagine the ways in which that COULD have gone wrong? On the up side, we probably would have been the subject of his next book, though we probably wouldn't be around to read it.

Eeep! I just realized I stole your side of the bed!!!!!

Oops, actually you didn't steal my side - I meant to say "right". Brain fart.

And yes a walk home in the heat would've been a tale worthy of King's horror.

Thanks! I can't promise I will post every day but I will make an effort at least once a week or so. I was starting to miss this damn LJ.
