Before Sunrise

I would highly recommend seeing Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Though, for those people who wish to remain hopeless romantics, I may not recommend seeing the sequel. It's strange how a movie can cling to one's mind even when everything about it is not really real. I suppose in seeing such a movie one can not help to see aspects of themselves in ( Read more... )

Yeah, I know what you mean about lost idealism. But I'd like to think I haven't become a complete cynic just yet and there are still plenty of times where I think with my heart instead of my mind. I'd like to think it's still possibly to keep these idealistic principles, tempered with the experience of realism.

I thought the first was good but the sequel was actually amazing. It's probably one of those films that either speaks to you or it doesn't. The 2nd one was incredibly depressing on many levels, but extremely realistic. Tough to watch but amazing.

Agree with Davy on idealism - it's a matter of lifestyle choice. Some people choose to get mired in the "shoulds" of life so much that they miss out on the best life has to offer. Idealism is born from the wish to conquer the "shoulds" and make your dreams happen.
