Stock market continues to drop dead

The economy is just terrible right now. I have been spared, but all around me I wonder how much longer the charade known as the American economy can last. I have watched the few stocks I have plummet - I could have taken that money and donated it to some people who really needed it. Instead, my numbers continue to drop and no one is gaining

We dumped pretty much everything we had into a house. It's something of a gamble in whether it eventually pays off, but if it doesn't, at least we have somewhere to live.
