i read the first book many, many, MANY moons ago and decided it was not for me. more recently (like within the past three years), a friend of mine and i were talking and he said, yeah, i can see it not being your type of story.
but now everyone is excited about the series and i have that (and the borgias) downloaded just waiting for me to watch. but i'm conflicted. so! is it good television?
I think it is good television. But I think it is better with the books as there is only so much you can put in an hour long episode. I think if I had read the books alone I would not have been as interested as I am with the two together. However now I am totally hooked.
PS: WIth the Borgias I lost interest after episode 4.
i might break out the book after i watch the episode then!
with the borgias, i'm a little worried that i won't like it enough. i've always enjoyed their history and so i think i might get caught up or it won't be good and i will be dreadfully disappointed! it's why i haven't watched yet. but i will still give it a go.
