Can you remember?

I'm bored and had some random memories. Can you remember at least one specific thing from each grade? Let's see if I can. I don't actually expect everyone to read this, but some things are quite amusing.

K: the two kindergarten rooms were joined together by a bathroom in the middle. One day I had to go and I met a boy from the other class in the hallway. He said, "you can come in this one if you want to. There's a stall." So I went in the boys bathroom. Then I saw his butt while he was at the urinal. I just quietly went back to class.

1st: My first detention. It was icy/snowy on the playground and we were out playing soccer. When it was time to come in from recess, my best bud Luke and I (I think it was Luke) pretended like it was too slippery on the field and we were running back and forth and didn't come in right away. The teacher was pretty pissed.

2nd: My 2nd detention. (I wasn't a terrible kid, I swear!) We had to have quiet time for an hour--read, color, do whatever, but no talking. So the bad kid, Narcuss tried to talk to me and I shh-ed him. Then I wrote, "be quiet" and then he wrote "bich" and I whispered, "no, that's not how you spell it." And I wrote "bitch." Then my teacher came over and saw what we wrote and we were busted. doh. I was just telling him how to SPELL. I think we were friends after that.

3rd: Probably the worst/longest punishment ever. Luke and I were playing on this jungle gym thing on the playground, sitting on top of the monkey bars, seeing who could hawk the biggest loogie. Then this little 2nd grader came and wanted to play on the thing. And we were like, "go away" and started to spit towards her...never ON her. She told on us. Mrs. Pope yelled at us in the hall for forever (it seemed like) then we had to miss recess for a MONTH (I think...it seemed like a REALLY long time). When our teacher had recess duty she said we had to be "her shadows." So we followed right behind her and copied everything she did. hehehe. I also remember one day we had a substitute teacher around Thanksgiving and a bunch of kinds of Thanksgiving foods were written on the board...I snuck up to the board and wrote an "s" on mashed potatoes, making it say "smashed potatoes." It was a big hit. 3rd grade was probably my favorite.

4th: We moved to Texarkana, TX. Moving from the Happy Valley, Utah to a hell hole was sort of tough. I remember I got my first B ever on a Texas History test...pretty darn good considering I JUST moved there! Stupid mean teacher. And one time I got a 50% on a math test--there were only 6 questions, and the teacher told my grade to everyone and humiliated me. I think that was about the year I quit raising my hand to answer/ask questions. If you got a question wrong, you were humiliated. Never been a speak out in any sort of class situation since.

5th: A kid who sat behind me stole a necklace off my neck. I was missing it and then the next day I saw him wearing it. Luckily we moved to Bryan, TX a few weeks later. I remember we did this Olympics thing and my and my friend Angela were Norway and had to create some sort of scrapbook of Norway. We won some medals too. Then we moved to Huntsville (yeah, 3 schools in one year). I remember meeting my first friend there, Michael. He spoke English and Spanish and I thought it was really cool he spoke 2 languages.

6th: Telling all of Ms. Gilbert's class to drop their pencils at 11:40...when she didn't hear those, I spread the word to drop books at 11:44. She was pretty mad and held us over. Then when we were late for English, we got sent to the office for being late...we told the Asst. Principal that it wasn't our fault that Ms. Gilbert held us over...HA.

7th: The first chair girl messed up on her solo during the concert and I came in at the right time even though she was all off and Mr. Mitchell said that I kept the band from falling apart.

8th: I was first chair. The high school band directors were there for some camp thing we were doing. I had a solo and right before I started playing it, Kristen whispers, "don't squeak" and of course, la la SQUEAK. And thus it began, the squeaking of the solos.

9th: I won the "buffest" marcher award at rookie camp, or something like that. I remember Carrie running and trying to kick the door open with her foot, but it didn't open and she bounced back and fell. I made the top band at the 2nd semester and was sooo very alone! I remember too many random little things to mention.

10th: This gets harder cause high school sort of runs together....oh yeah, 10th is when we started to drive, right? Um. I remember that I wasn't supposed to drive anyone, but I was going to pick people up anyways. I was running late so Ameesh called my house to see where I was. I got in trouble.

11th: Blue shades. "you played that solo pretty well...for a JUNIOR" Mean Mrs. Vincent! Macy's Day Parade! They separated Me and Tasha from Carrie. JERKS. Patrick was my boyfriend. He wanted to go to all-state band instead of take me to my prom, so I went with Matt instead. Again, high school is all running together, I'm getting confused! Ferris day!

12th: So much. I remember meeting after 2nd period with peeps at the top of the stairs and we'd walk to band together. Playing La vita es bella and looking around the room at all of the seniors and almost crying. Band banquet. Lisa's, Carrie's and my car always parked in the same spot, all in a row. Ah, here's a good specific one. Carrie: "Man, I so don't want to be here today" Me: "Me either!" *runs out door, right past Mr. Connell* Mr. C: "Where are you going?" Us: "ummm....no where!!!" Mr. C: "Have fun!" We drove to Florence to chill with her brother and stuff.

So, that was fun and random. Truly though, I can't keep high school straight. the younger years are definitely easier, probably because there are fewer and more specific....yeah....
