I am off up north for a week. I am very much looking forward to some time in the hills, probably amidst stormy weather...

I am also eagerly awaiting a copy of this...

I hope this means you'll treat us to gorgeous photos from your journey?
Isn't that the author of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell? I've not read this one, so look forward to your review.

Have a great trip!

I hope so - but currently the skies are too gray here for decent photography. I have a black & white film in hope that I get the opportuntiy to get some pictures of some of my favourite parts of my home town, but it depends on whether the skies clear a little and provide more light/dry conditions for me to work in. I'd especially like to photograph Kendal Castle - a place of many memories for me and some family ties too.

Aye she wrote that best seller. I am easing my way i nto her style with this rather lovely sounding compilation of folk/fary-tales. I am a glutton for such works, lol. And yay for Charles Vess.

Thanks, the trip is most restful so far. Hope all is well there.

Glad to inspire, lol! I found it half price in hardback, illsutrated by a fantasy artist Neil Gaiman works with (I was linked to it via Fragile Things - which I've also purchased). Unfortunately I packed no reading material for my trip in hope they'd arrive by now...alas, amazon are keeping me waiting, grr. Should be worth it though! I picked up a little something about angels & vineyards from a charity shop to keep me going...The trip is stormy so far, so few days/evenings outside unfortunately.

I hope you are doing ok m'dear.
