Yes, I think that poem was read and it got me by the heart strings somewhat too (though thanks for sharing it here in full- I've never come across it before). I found it extremely beautiful and moving.
Well if hot sword-wielding men is what you like, you should definitely try to see that film lol. An appreciation of norse sagas helps too, but not compulsory!
