arg. young people sometimes!
My sisters' guy, D. has been an apprentice welder for 3 years; the only reason he hasn't gotten certified is because of the fees($500, x-rays are done on some welds to determine the strength of them, I guess?)
He is now selling Kirby vacuums door to door, which only pays on commission. I just....ARGH!!!!!! I am PISSED at him. My mom is pissed at him. My SIS is pissed at him; he didn't tell her the Kirby thing was commission only until after he'd already taken the job. Does he not get that he is an adult, with a child? This is on top of missing court for a traffic ticket last week cause he'd drank too much and passed out the night before... yeah. NOT really the kind of life my parents ever wanted for either of us kids, but as long as Cass was happy, they've kept their mouth shut and reminded themselves that D. is young, and of the stuff they(my parents) did when they were the same ages...
Yes, his job wasn't great. Yes, someone had recently been hired who sounds like an ass kissing troublemaker. But DAMNIT at LEAST find a job that will SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY! He HAS a KID, and if he's doing the door to door salesman thing, my sis can't get a job, cause who'll be watching the kid?
Also, D. got his tax return...and bought a 32 inch flat screen tv/dvd combo...when my sis is using a phone with a cracked, blacked out screen, and it barely works. $20 left to buy a go phone, so she could just switch out the sim card? nope, he had to get a couple movies.
We're at the point that anything we send them will be grocery store gift cards, no money. my parents have sent about $800 to them this last year, so, yeah. That is in addition to flying my sis out here for xmas, lol, and paying the FOUR HUNDRED DOLLAR cell phone bill from december, when someone borrowed her phone for a few days & was using internet on it, which is a family plan with mine & moms.
I... me and Cass, we're spoiled brats. We know it, and, lol, she's even more spoiled then me. We try *very* hard to not take advantage of it, I don't ask my parents to pay for my concert trips, or anything like that, you know? But there is a line, and they've hit it. Only way they are getting more help from mom & dad is if they move out here. Mom & dad will HELP them move out her, if they want, and they can live here with me, rent free, as long as they're trying to get their feet under them, you know? even after they both find jobs, they can stay here and just pay half the utilities...If D. can even come out here; with that missing court, there may be a bench warrant out for him, so he may not be able to cross state lines. :/
in happier news, I just won my GRAIL my little pony! Greek Bluebelle with purple hair, for about HALF of the normal price, if not less!!!
