An old friend passed away yesterday. Goodbye Brian, you had a profound impact on my life and I'm so glad to have known you. RIP. My condolences to Sindy, Fern, and Dominic and everyone else close to him.
Fern said it was either a heart attack or stroke. He'd had an operation on his heart a few years back, but continued to smoke. I hope his family can stay strong and manage to keep on top of things - there's their shop, and their home with the residents that they look after (Brian was a qualified nurse).
I hadn't seen as much of him in recent years as I would have liked, but whenever I did it was always just like old times. He gave me a break to work in his shop while I was a student back in 1994, and we'd been through some fun times together. My best memory is when we had a stall at the Phoenix Festival near Stratford Upon Avon.
I'm okay. Sad and concerned about how things are going to work out for his family. Waiting to hear more from Fern about funeral arrangements and/or anything I can help with.
It was VNV Nation's As It Fades playing randomly on my music player yesterday that really made me stop what I was doing and think about him. Amazing how music has that effect.

Hopefully there are lots of friends and relatives willing to help and make things easier for his family. I thought I knew who you meant as you have often spoken fondly of him and I'm sorry you've lost your friend.

All funeral arrangements are still up in the air just now but as soon as things are decided I'll let people know.
I know what you mean about music, I'm going to go through Brian's Mp3 player to start thinking about what music would be best for the funeral...things are still a bit raw though.
